Red Bull is undertaking significant infrastructure upgrades across its motorsport operations. In Austria, Mark Mateschitz is investing an additional 25 million euros into the Red Bull Ring to modernize circuit facilities. This investment, which brings total recent expenditure to approximately 50 million euros, includes the construction of a new 250-meter-long glass-walled rooftop terrace atop the pit building to replace temporary VIP facilities. This project is part of a long-term agreement to host the Austrian Grand Prix through 2041. Simultaneously, Red Bull Racing is constructing a new aerodynamic wind tunnel at its Milton Keynes facility to replace its current site in Bedford. Team principal Laurent Mekies has confirmed that the new facility is expected to become operational begin operations during the 2027 Formula 1 season. While the current Bedford exact quarter of operation is not yet determined, the tunnel will likely support the second half of the 2027 car development cycle and the majority of work for the 2028 season. The new facility is intended to replace the Bedford tunnel, which former team principal Christian Horner described as a “Cold War relic.” Although the Bedford site supported the team during its championship runs through four consecutive driver championships between 2021 and 2024, the new technology high-tech infrastructure is intended to provide a competitive advantage advantage. Mekies noted that the benefits will not be instantaneous, as the team will require time for car development starting in 2027 initial setup and 2028. calibration before the facility reaches its full potential.
