Regional and national sports competitions in Argentina

Argentina has hosted several regional and national sports competitions targeting different age demographics.

In late September, provincial youth competitions concluded in Entre Ríos and Misiones. In Misiones, the Misionero Sports Games included disciplines such as padel, gymnastics, and table tennis, with certain teams qualifying for the National Evita Games.

By early October, the focus shifted to competitions for senior citizens. The National Evita Games for Older Adults in San Juan included activities such as chess and padel, while Río Negro participated in swimming and tejo events. Additionally, the regional stage of the 2026 Bonaerense Games for Older Adults began in Berazategui, featuring games like lottery and burako.

In early October, the national finals of the Juegos Evita for older adults concluded in San Juan. Jujuy achieved notable success, securing seven medals and the Fair Play Cup, while Santa Cruz earned a gold medal in the motor skills circuit. Tierra del Fuego also competed, with its strongest performance in women’s padel.

Other regional athletic developments included boxing finals in Jujuy for the Copa Jujuy and Juegos Forja to select amateur athletes, and football training in Río Grande for the upcoming Juegos de la Araucanía. Community engagement also featured spring celebrations for seniors in Concepción del Uruguay and a charity dinner in 25 de Mayo to support a local nursing home.
