Regional business organizations in Spain have launched several initiatives aimed at fostering economic and social development through cooperation, inclusion, and sustainability. In early October, efforts in Castelló and Tarragona focused on strengthening entrepreneurship and professionalizing business associations. In Castelló, the Focus Pime meeting sought to connect talent and resources to drive regional projects, while in Tarragona, sessions were held to improve business representation and communication with public administrations within industrial zones. By late October, the focus expanded to include inclusive employment and the green economy. In Gandia, the Inclusive Employment Forum worked to connect people with disabilities to local business opportunities. In Reus, programs were introduced to help businesses integrate ESG standards and environmental criteria. Additionally, commercial studies were conducted through tours in Vitoria-Gasteiz and Rioja Alavesa to examine retail models that blend tradition with innovation. In late October, regional efforts shifted toward workforce development and economic diversification. In Andalusia, officials noted a high demand for SAP technology professionals, following a nearly 39% growth in the ICT sector’s gross value added between 2021 and 2025. In Catalonia’s Safor region, an occupation forum engaged over 180 people with disabilities. New sustainability and technology programs also emerged: the ARRROS brand was launched in the Ebro Delta to promote regenerative agriculture, while Valencia’s Smart Business Lab began hosting discussions on the blue economy and maritime innovation. Other localized efforts included artificial intelligence workshops for SMEs in Siero, professional training in Teruel, and continued retail strategy tours in Álava.
