Local governments in Spain have announced various funding programs across the Valencian Community and Navarra. In Valencia, the Generalitat Valenciana opened applications for the 2025-2026 Extraordinary Vocational Training Awards to recognize academic excellence in vocational training cycles. In Navarra, the Department of Education approved a 20,000 euro fund for teacher training in public non-university centers for the 2026-2027 academic year. These grants cover registration, travel, and accommodation for activities held both within Spain and abroad. Further developments in Valencia include the approval of one million euros for eleven innovation projects involving artificial intelligence, robotics, and biotechnology to address urban issues. Additionally, the Valencia Local Government Board approved a 1.5 million euro program to support birth rates and family reconciliation, providing 500 euro grants to qualifying families for births, adoptions, or foster care. On October 29, 2026, the Valencia City Council granted initial approval to its 2027 municipal budget, totaling 1.361 billion euros. This figure represents an 8.8 percent increase over the current year and was supported by the governing coalition of PP and Vox. The consolidated budget, including autonomous bodies and municipal public companies, reaches 1.580 billion euros, an 11.7 percent increase. Opposition groups, including Compromís and PSPV-PSOE, voted against the measure. Critics from Compromís described the budget as a “collection of pending announcements,” noting that much of the increase stems from state transfers and financial operations, while also raising concerns regarding the execution of previous housing investments.
