Regional sporting and cultural events in Argentina

Various sporting events are scheduled across Argentina, including mixed martial arts and cycling competitions. In August, Catriel hosted the third Ares Fight Night featuring amateur and semi-professional bouts, while Rafaela held the UCI C2 Argentina Cup at a new indoor wooden velodrome. By early September, the focus expanded to include motorsports and rally events. The 19th Rally Bike Calamuchita in Santa Rosa de Calamuchita is scheduled for September 4 to 6, with over 2,000 athletes expected. San Francisco will host the Argentino de Rally, debuting in the city from September 4 to 6 to coincide with its 140th anniversary; the event is expected to feature 14 local teams. In San Juan, the Villicum Circuit is set to host the Argentino and Chilean Speed Championships from September 4 to 6. Other regional activities include Turismo Pista exhibitions in Jujuy featuring local drivers Matías Clapier and Federico Stieglitz, motocross in Bella Vista, and motorcycle competitions in Federación, La Cascada, and Santiago del Estero. In Río Gallegos, a municipal volleyball tournament has reached record numbers with 65 participating teams. New events aimed at boosting regional tourism include the 14th Desafío Camino Real – Rally Bike cycling competition in Villa del Totoral on September 12 and 13. Additionally, the 13th ASICS K21 Series trail running competition is set for Villa Pehuenia Moquehue, where nearly 1,000 runners are expected to compete on courses that are approximately 80% snow-covered. In Entre Ríos, the provincial government has launched a sports development plan involving the regulation of the Sports Patronage Law, energy subsidies for clubs, universal insurance coverage, and investments in scholarships and equipment. Meanwhile, weightlifter Domingo Meza from Corrientes recently secured three gold medals in the U20 category at the South American Youth and Senior Games in Ecuador.
