The Calabria region is hosting various national-level sporting competitions in late 2026. In October, the region will host the Italian Taekwondo Championships in Rossano, Corigliano-Rossano. This event, featuring junior, senior, Under 21, and Master categories, marks the first time the region has held the national championship in ten years. Olympic champion Simone Alessio is scheduled to serve as a testimonial for the event. Additionally, the Tycke Sport club, representing Calabria, is set to compete in the Italian AirBadminton Championships in Palermo during September. Other regional sporting activities include the fourth edition of the Miglio Blu Trophy open water swimming event in Trebisacce. Furthermore, Silvi is hosting the second Beach Volley Trophy ‘Città di Silvi’ as part of its candidacy for the European Capital of Sport 2028.
