Regional sports activity continues with mixed results for Partizan Belgrade. In EuroLeague basketball, the team secured a 92:76 victory against Armani Milano in the season opener, led by Karlik Džons with 20 points and 10 assists. However, Partizan’s football club faces escalating disciplinary action from UEFA following a Conference League playoff match against Getafe. The total fine imposed on the club has risen to 42,000 euros due to organizational failures, the use of pyrotechnics and lasers, and racist and discriminatory behavior by fans. As part of the sanctions, the club must reduce its stadium capacity by closing 5,000 seats in the West stand for its next European home match. A two-year conditional penalty remains in effect, which could lead to the closure of up to 15,000 seats if further incidents occur. In football, the club has announced a friendly match against the Greek side PAOK, scheduled for November 14 in Thessaloniki, to celebrate PAOK’s 100th anniversary and highlight the friendship between the two clubs. Additionally, Partizan is set to host the Russian club Rodina for a friendly football match at the Zemunelo training center on September 27 to allow the coaching staff to test players. In other sports, the water polo team suffered a dramatic loss to Budva in the Regional League, following a 13:13 draw in regulation time that was decided by a penalty shootout. Meanwhile, the Partizan AdmiralBet handball team secured a 31:27 away victory against Loznica in the ARKUS league. Looking ahead, the handball team is scheduled to play a friendly match against the Russian club Rodina in Solun on November 14.
