Release of action film The Beast

Details have emerged regarding the upcoming action thriller ‘The Beast’, directed by Renny Harlin. The film stars Samuel L. Jackson as the President of the United States during a coup attempt in Washington involving an unidentified militia.

The plot follows the President as he attempts to survive the attack, protect an injured security agent played by Joel Kinnaman, and reunite with his wife. Central to the narrative is the use of the presidential limousine, referred to as ‘The Beast’, which is depicted as a mobile arsenal with highly classified offensive capabilities.

Newer descriptions characterize the film as a ‘high-concept action thriller that plays out in real time’. The narrative expands on the President becoming trapped in the armored limousine after a terrorist attack decimates his Secret Service detail. Alongside a wounded agent named Taft, played by Kinnaman, the President must navigate a war zone to reach an extraction point amidst a global upheaval caused by an ‘unidentified alliance of enemies’. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on October 9.
