Produced on a micro-budget of approximately $30,000 in Florida by Snoot Entertainment, Aymara Films, and Please Hold Pictures, the film utilizes a ‘hangout horror’ style to reflect Gen Z malaise. To facilitate interior car scenes, the production used a virtual production facility at Florida State University, which required the vehicle to be disassembled and reassembled on a sound stage. Ullom has described the work as a blend of an ‘hang out movie’ and an ‘existential nightmare’, focusing on how characters navigate trauma and uncertainty amidst cosmic forces. The narrative features a unique existential loop where biological rhythms, such as hunger, fatigue, and sexual desire, cease to function, though time continues to move forward without a reset. Following its premiere at SXSW, the film has expanded its theatrical presence. In presence in the United States, States via distributor NEON launched NEON, with a limited release in New York and Los Angeles on August 21, 2026, before expanding followed by a nationwide expansion on August 28, 2026. This rollout included a ‘Director’s Experience’ via the TheaterEars app, providing synchronized commentary from Ullom and producers Evan Barber and Carrie Carusone. Ullom is recognized as part of a rising ‘Gen Z horror’ movement alongside directors like Curry Barker and Kane Parsons. He has been named by Filmmaker Magazine as one of the ‘25 New Faces of Independent Film’. In Italy, I Wonder Pictures has released the film’s trailer and poster ahead of its scheduled theatrical release on October 28, 2026.
