Release and sequel development of ~~Mercedes Ron film~~ ‘Drawn Together’

The romantic thriller film ‘Drawn Together’, based on the ‘Enfrentados’ duology by Mercedes Ron, has premiered on Amazon Prime Video. Directed by Óscar Pedraza and starring Ester Expósito and Hugo Diego Garcia, the film is a production by Pokeepsie Films. The narrative centers on Marfil Cortés, the daughter of a wealthy businessman in New York, who is assigned a bodyguard named Sebastián Moore following a kidnapping attempt. The plot involves a twist where Sebastián is revealed to be an FBI agent who, along with a ~~colleague,~~ colleague named Ray, orchestrated the kidnapping to manipulate Marfil’s father, Alejandro Cortés. Alejandro is reportedly under witness protection due to past illegal activities and a violent conflict with an associate named Marcus Kozel. Following the success of the first film, which topped Prime Video charts, a teaser has been released for the sequel, ‘Drawn Apart’. Directed by Pedraza, the sequel has completed filming and is expected to release potentially in 2027. Picking up immediately after the first film’s cliffhanger, the sequel is described as “darker and more action-oriented.” The plot follows Marfil after she is kidnapped by Marcus Kozel, while Sebastián, acting as an undercover FBI agent, attempts to rescue her. This release is part of the expanding ‘House of Ron’ audiovisual empire on Prime Video, following the success of Ron’s ‘Culpables’ trilogy. Amazon is also preparing the 2027 premiere of ‘Our Fault: London’, the final installment of the English-language adaptation of that trilogy.
