The musical comedy film ‘Power Ballad’, directed by John Carney, follows the story of Danny, a former boy band idol played by Nick Jonas, and Rick, a wedding singer played by Paul Rudd. The plot centers on Danny transforming one of Rick’s unfinished songs into a global hit, leading to themes of betrayal, music copyrights, and personal rediscovery. Following its premiere at the Dublin International Film Festival, the film is scheduled for release in Taiwan on September 11. Additionally, a nationwide release in Japan, titled ‘Kimi ni Okuru Saikyo no Uta’, is set for December 25. Director John Carney has recently released a lyric video for ‘How To Write A Song (Without You)’, the lead track from the film. This release marks Carney’s first theatrical project in ten years, following previous works such as ‘Once’ and ‘Sing Street’.
