Teufel has released the ULTIMA 25 AKTIV 2, a second-generation active stereo bookshelf speaker system. The This all-in-one unit operates without an external amplifier and provides 2 x 50 Watts RMS. It features various connectivity options, including HDMI ARC with CEC, optical digital, AUX, and a USB-C sound card. Wireless features include Bluetooth 5.0, DAB+, and FM radio. The hardware utilizes a 2-way design with a Kevlar midrange driver and a waveguide-equipped tweeter, alongside Dynamore Virtual Center technology for speech clarity. Subsequent reports indicate a broader trend of audio companies releasing new active speaker systems. Alongside Teufel, the Danish brand Vestlyd introduced the M6C and M8C coaxial active speakers, which combine retro aesthetics with paper membrane woofers and titanium dome tweeters. Expanding into high-end wireless streaming, Teufel has also launched the IKONIO, a WLAN speaker delivering 650 watts RMS. This 3-way system employs eight drivers and eight independent amplifier channels, including two 200-mm subwoofers in a force-balancing housing to reach a 19 Hz low frequency response. It utilizes Dynamore Ultra technology to create a wide soundstage and allows for wireless pairing to form a stereo setup. Additionally, Dali has introduced the Vega, an all-in-one system that integrates streaming and amplification to reduce cable clutter and simplify operation compared to traditional HiFi setups.
