Release of new open-ear earbud models
Overview
In October 2026, multiple manufacturers released new open-ear audio products utilizing C-bridge or clip-on designs.
Ugreen launched the ClipBuds Pro 2, featuring a memory titanium alloy design and 11mm dual-magnet composite drivers. These headphones include AI-powered real-time translation for up to 130 languages and bone conduction microphones for noise reduction.
OnePlus officially unveiled the Buds Clip, its first entry into the clip-on, open-ear wireless earbud category. The device features a C-shaped bridge made from a flexible nickel-titanium memory alloy, with each earbud weighing 5.2 grams. The earbuds have received TÜV Rheinland Comfortable Fit certification and utilize a symmetrical design with automatic left and right ear detection via built-in sensors.
Developed with Dynaudio, the Buds Clip utilize dual drivers consisting of an 11mm woofer and a 9mm tweeter. The hardware includes dual DACs, a 6nm AI audio chip, and support for LHDC 3.0 and 5.0 high-definition audio codecs. To mitigate sound leakage, OnePlus implemented dipole sound field technology using reverse sound waves. Additional specifications include a six-microphone array with bone-conduction voice pick-up, IP55 dust and water resistance, and up to 40 hours of battery life with the charging case. Specific pricing and regional availability have not yet been announced.
