The film ‘Le Fantôme de l’Opéra’, directed by Alexandre Castagnetti, premiered at the 2026 Rome Film Festival. The production is a contemporary reimagining of the Phantom of the Opera myth, set in modern-day Paris. The narrative shifts focus toward Anastasia, a young ballerina played by Deva Cassel, as she navigates ambition and mysterious events while joining the Paris Opera. In the film, Cassel portrays Anastasia Marescu, a Romanian dancer at the Paris Opéra Garnier. To prepare for the role, the 22-year-old actress underwent three months of intensive daily ballet training, practicing five to six times a week. The cast also includes Romain Duris and Julien de Saint-Jean. Following the festival premiere, the film held a Paris premiere at the Pathé Palace. During the event, lead actress Deva Cassel appeared in a mint green silk Dior gown.
