Religious authorities and government officials in Venezuela have gathered to commemorate the 374th anniversary of the appearance of the Virgen de Coromoto and to mark the beginning of the Coromoto Jubilee Year. In Guanare, a solemn Eucharist was held at the Basilica Menor Santuario Nacional, attended by various ministers, deputies, and regional governors. The festivities included the lighting of a jubilee candle and the blessing of the baptismal font under the theme ‘Under your mantle, Venezuela renews.’ In San Cristóbal, Monsignor Juan Alberto Ayala presided over a mass at the Nuestra Señora de Coromoto parish to honor the nativity of the Virgin Mary and the anniversary of the apparition. The liturgy included the consecration of four new altar servers and reflections focused on peace, humility, and national unity. As the Coromoto Jubilee Year extends through September 2027, celebrations are marking the 375th anniversary of the apparitions and the 75th anniversary of the canonical coronation. This period is expected to draw massive numbers of pilgrims to the National Sanctuary in Guanare. Devotion to the patron saint, proclaimed by Pope Pius XII in 1950, remains a significant expression of faith for Venezuelans both domestically and within the global diaspora. During this jubilee, opportunities for plenary indulgences are being offered at various jubilee temples and parishes across the country.
