Rels B homecoming concert in Palma

Singer Rels B, born Daniel Heredia Vidal, was scheduled to perform a free concert at Parc de la Mar in Palma on September 11 to celebrate his upcoming recognition as ‘Hijo Predilecto de Mallorca’ (Favorite Son of Mallorca). The event was organized by the Consell de Mallorca and the Ajuntament de Palma, with an initial attendance expectation of approximately 30,000 people.

On the eve of the Diada de Mallorca, the concert took place with an estimated crowd of between 20,000 and 60,000 people. The performance featured a diverse repertoire spanning rap, pop urbano, reggae, afrobeat, and R&B, including hits such as ‘Un verano en Mallorca’. The production was extensive, utilizing a 16-meter high stage and audiovisual equipment set against the backdrop of the illuminated Palma Cathedral.

Notable attendees included the President of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés. During the event, the artist acknowledged his upcoming official appointment as ‘hijo predilecto’ of the island while emphasizing his connection to his Mediterranean roots. To manage the large influx of spectators, local and national police implemented significant security and logistics operations, including adjustments to public transport and traffic.
