Renault Trafic model updates and awards

Renault has introduced updates for both electric and diesel versions of its Trafic van line. At the Paris Motor Show, the company unveiled pricing and specifications for the new generation Trafic Van E-Tech electric van. The lineup includes an L1H1 Advance model with a 60 kWh battery starting at 41,500 euros net, and an 81 kWh version starting at 47,000 euros net. The higher-capacity 81 kWh models are expected to offer a range of up to 470 km in a mixed cycle. The vehicle is available in Advance and Extra trim levels, with the latter offering features such as automatic climate control and a mobile office setup. Additionally, Renault announced technical improvements for its diesel-powered Trafic and Trafic Van models. These mechanical upgrades include a recalibrated electric power steering system and an enhanced braking system featuring larger 320 x 30 mm discs and dual-piston front calipers. Interior and safety updates for the diesel models include a faster 10-inch touchscreen, new synthetic fabric upholstery, a driver attention monitoring camera, and standard rearview cameras. The Renault Trafic E-Tech was recently named ‘International Van of the Year 2027’ by a jury at the IAA Transportation fair in Hannover. Despite mass production not being scheduled until late 2026, the vehicle was recognized for its 800-volt architecture capable of 240 kW fast charging, which allows a 15% to 80% charge in approximately 20 minutes. The electric lineup features an ‘Urban Range’ version with a 52 kWh LFP battery and a ‘Long Range’ version with an 81 kWh NMC battery, which can offer up to 690 km in urban conditions.
