Retroid has introduced new handheld gaming devices focused on high-performance emulation. The Retroid Pocket 6, featuring a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and an Adreno 740 GPU, is designed to emulate platforms such as PlayStation 2, Nintendo Switch, and GameCube. Following this, the Retroid Pocket Nova was launched as a specialized Android-based device for retro gaming. Priced at $239, the Nova is an evolution of the Pocket 6, utilizing a plastic shell for increased durability and a flat back design for better grip. The device is optimized for 4:3 aspect ratio games and includes hardware support for visual filters to mimic CRT televisions. Expanding its lineup, Retroid announced pricing for has detailed its dual-screen handhelds, the Retroid Pocket Duo, Duo and the Pocket Duo Lite, which utilize a dual-screen handheld targeting clamshell design for Nintendo DS and 3DS emulation. The flagship Pocket Duo is priced at $270 and features a dual 120 Hz AMOLED displays—a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED primary screen alongside and a 4.5-inch 960p secondary screen, powered screen—powered by a Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-7790 processor running Android 16. A more affordable Pre-order pricing for the flagship is $249, with a standard retail price of $269. The Pocket Duo Lite will be available provides a budget-friendly alternative with dual 60 Hz TFT displays (5.5-inch primary and 4.2-inch secondary) and a Qualcomm Dragonwing QSC6125 processor running Android 15. Pre-order prices for $150, offering half the RAM and Lite model start at $135 for a 4 GB RAM/64 GB storage of the flagship model. While pre-orders configuration and $155 for these devices are currently sold out, Retroid has indicated they a 6 GB RAM/128 GB storage configuration. Both models will be available in various colors, including shades reminiscent of classic GameCube transparent options such as ‘atomic purple’ and Game Boy ‘ice blue’ much like classic hardware.
