Ricky Martin NFL halftime performance in Rio

Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin arrived in Rio de Janeiro to prepare for a halftime performance during the NFL Rio Game 2026 at Maracanã Stadium. Martin, who was staying at the Copacabana Palace, interacted with fans prior to the scheduled matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and the Dallas Cowboys.

During the halftime show, Martin and Brazilian DJ Pedro Sampaio performed a six-minute set choreographed by Parris Goebel. The production featured a mix of dance styles, including funk and voguing, and included the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. The performance incorporated Martin’s hit ‘Livin’ La Vida Loca’ and Sampaio’s ‘Vai no Cavalinho’ routine. Notably, the duo used the stage for the world premiere of their new single, ‘Pikito, Pikito’, a track blending pop, funk, samba, reggaeton, mambo, and salsa, which was released on streaming platforms immediately following the show.

Following the event, Martin appeared on the program ‘Domingão com Huck’ alongside Sampaio to discuss the performance. Martin noted a deep emotional connection to his Brazilian fans spanning nearly 40 years, stating he felt more nervous about this appearance than his recent Super Bowl halftime performance. During the broadcast, Martin also praised Brazilian singer Ivete Sangalo, referring to her as ‘a goddess’.
