Riksbyggen has initiated new residential and energy-efficiency projects in Sweden. In Helsingborg, the company has begun the first phase of the Brf Rååbrisen development, a coastal project featuring 43 apartments and eight townhouses scheduled for completion by summer 2028. Simultaneously, the housing association Brf Umeåhus 14 in Umeå reported significant energy reductions through Riksbyggen’s AI-driven heat optimization service. By utilizing sensors to fine-tune heating systems, the association reduced heat consumption by nearly 25 percent, resulting in annual savings of 113,000 SEK. Chairman Roland Lundberg noted that the initiative maintained a stable indoor climate while addressing resident concerns regarding privacy and comfort. Further details regarding the Umeå project indicate that the cooperative addressed privacy and comfort concerns by installing sensors in approximately half of the apartments, focusing primarily on outer-facing units. The installation process utilized small, wireless pucks that required no cabling.
