Speculation regarding a collaboration between the Rilakkuma anime and the sports manga ‘Haikyu!!’ began after the Rilakkuma official X account posted a mysterious logo and the date ‘2026. 9. 18’. Fans noted that the logo design resembled the ‘Haikyu!!’ branding and identified potential numerical connections between the post time and the date. Following these rumors, Production I.G and IG Port officially announced the ‘Rilakkuma x Haikyu!!’ IP collaboration. The project ~~will feature a~~ features 12 newly drawn special collaboration visuals depicting characters from Karasuno, Aoba Johsai, Nekoma, Fukurodani, and Inarizaki high schools interacting with Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma. A series of Pop Up Stores will be held at ‘baseyard tokyo’ locations across five cities ~~starting~~ in Japan. The first phase will run from November 20, ~~offering exclusive merchandise such as~~ 2026, to December 6, 2026, in Tokyo (Harajuku) and Osaka (Abeno Q's Mall). A second phase is scheduled from December 18, 2026, to January 17, 2027, in Sapporo, Kyoto, and Hiroshima. Merchandise for the collaboration includes trading tin badges, acrylic stands, pouches, and socks. Additionally, a collaboration lottery and card soft cookies featuring the collaboration visuals are planned for release in January 2027. In related news for the ‘Haikyu!!’ franchise, a ‘Haikyu!! Exciting School Festival’ Pop Up Shop is scheduled to open at four locations in Japan, including Tokyo and Osaka, starting October 23, 2026.
