The Rimac Group has become a major driver of Croatian exports, with luxury cars and battery systems ranking among the nation’s top products. In 2025, Bugatti Rimac and Rimac Technology were among Croatia’s largest goods exporters, generating significant revenue and profit through various holdings and related-party transactions. On September 9, 2026, Porsche finalized the sale of its 21% stake in Rimac Group and its 45% stake in Bugatti Rimac to an investment consortium led by HOF Capital, which includes BlueFive Capital. The transaction follows regulatory approvals and is expected to generate approximately €1 billion in proceeds. Porsche intends to use €250 million of these funds to finance pension obligations, a move part of a broader strategy to focus on its core business and optimize its financial structure. This divestment is expected to improve Porsche’s 2026 net cash flow margin to between 5.5% and ~~7.5%.~~ 7.5%, an increase from the previous estimate of 3% to 5%. The ownership change marks the end of Bugatti’s long-standing connection to the Volkswagen Group, which began in 1998.
