The city of Rio Branco is undergoing a transition in its public transportation system following a crisis with the previous operator, Ricco Transportes. Initially, the Mayor announced that new buses from the Caio Busscar factory in São Paulo would begin transport to the capital within 24 to 48 hours once bureaucratic and payment procedures were finalized. By late September, officials confirmed that the new fleet, consisting of 120 buses from the JTP group, is expected to arrive by September 30. The fleet includes Apache VIP V and Apache VIP VI models equipped with air conditioning, USB chargers, and accessibility features such as hydraulic elevators. The new operation is scheduled to launch in October, with the transition occurring incrementally as JTP replaces Ricco Transportes. Alongside the fleet renewal, the municipal government intends to revitalize passenger infrastructure, beginning with bus stops and terminals in the José de Melo region. As of late September, the logistics operation managed by Loopslog Transporte has commenced. The initial shipment includes 30 vehicles from the CAIO factory in Botucatu, São Paulo, with another 30 expected to follow in a first convoy of 60 buses. An additional 20 vehicles are anticipated for dispatch the following week. Mayor Alysson Bestene clarified that the total renewal project will consist of 80 new buses and 40 pre-owned vehicles. The first vehicles are scheduled to arrive in Rio Branco on Tuesday, September 29.
