The illegal Jogo do Bicho lottery in Rio de Janeiro continues to publish its daily draw schedule and placeholders for results on the PT Rio portal. As of late July and early August 2026, the portal tracks multiple extraction times—including PPT, PTM, PT, PTV, PTN, Federal, and Coruja—though many draws remain marked as “Aguardando” (awaiting results). The service positions the Rio de Janeiro draws as a national reference for bettors across the country. By mid-August 2026, the tracking of specific extraction times remains consistent, with scheduled times including PPT at 09:20, PTM at 11:20, PT at 14:20, PTV at 16:20, PTN at 18:20, and Coruja at 21:30. Specific Federal draws are noted to occur on Sundays at 11:00 and Wednesdays at 20:00. Historical context for the lottery notes its origin in Rio de Janeiro in 1892, established by João Batista Viana Drummond, the founder of the city’s zoo. The common phrase ‘Deu no Poste’ refers to the historical practice of posting lottery results on public poles or murals to ensure community access. In response to these activities, Rio de Janeiro’s Gaeco unit conducted a search-and-seizure operation on 6 August 2026 at a clandestine bingo on Rua Conde de Bonfim in Tijuca. Authorities confiscated approximately 99 to 100 slot-machine units. Investigators linked the bingo to a newly formed leadership of the Jogo do Bicho syndicate, referred to as the “new cúpula.” The operation specifically targeted leaders Rogério Costa de Andrade, Vinícius Pereira Drumond, and Adilson Oliveira Coutinho Filho (known as Adilsinho). Their coordinated activities were identified through phone data previously seized during the 2024 Operation Fissão. This crackdown follows an earlier raid in Vila Isabel that yielded 48 machines. Law enforcement aims to disrupt the group’s financial structure, which reportedly moved roughly R$130 million over three years and supports cigarette trafficking and online gambling.
