A series of fatal road accidents has been reported across different provinces in Afghanistan. In Kandahar province, a head-on collision between a truck and a bus in the Daman district resulted in five deaths and 15 injuries. Local authorities identified speeding and driver negligence as recurring issues contributing to such fatalities. In the northern Badakhshan province, a separate incident occurred when a passenger vehicle overturned while traveling between the Kofab and Yaftal districts, leaving four people dead and eight injured. Local officials noted that the region’s rugged mountainous terrain and limited infrastructure are frequent contributors to traffic accidents. This incident follows other recent fatal accidents, including a crash in Takhar province in late September and a mini-bus accident in Laghman province.
