In September 2026, approximately 30 humanoid and quadrupedal robots staged a demonstration in Warsaw, Poland, outside the Ministry of Digital Affairs. Organized by the Democratism initiative and Delta Robots, the protest sought to demand stricter artificial intelligence regulations and protections for human jobs against the risks of automation. During the demonstration, robots displayed Polish flags and played recorded messages such as ‘Defend workplaces’ and ‘Time for rules.’ One humanoid model, the Agibot A3, used a large language model to engage with the press. Organizer Grzegorz Kuliś stated the goal was to highlight the potential for AI and robotics to replace human workers in both manual and cognitive roles, warning that without immediate regulatory action, the labor market could face significant disruptions. While viral social media footage led to claims of autonomous robot activism, the event was a human-organized demonstration designed to spark public debate. Polish Digital Affairs Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski visited the site, stating that ‘man comes first’ and warning that uncontrolled AI models integrated into humanoid robots could pose serious challenges if decision-making shifts from humans to algorithms. Gawkowski further noted that Poland is working on a national framework to implement European AI regulations, which includes the creation of regulatory sandboxes for companies to test AI solutions.
