From late May through mid‑July late July 2026 U.S. federal courts imposed a series of lengthy sentences on defendants linked to large‑scale meth, cocaine, fentanyl and heroin networks. Notable cases included a Rochester, Minnesota driver sentenced to 92 months for a pound of meth, a Washington judge giving an undocumented Mexican national seven years for a multi‑state conspiracy, a Missouri defendant receiving 30 years for distributing over 3,000 lb of a meth‑fentanyl‑heroin mix, and a Virginia offender sentenced to 11 years for monthly meth shipments. Operation Take Back America concluded with California brothers Lorenzo and Adam Marquez receiving 30 and 17 years, respectively, and co‑defendants Jasper‑Wiley and Odumuyiwa receiving 12 years and 6 years 8 months after massive fentanyl, MDMA, meth, cocaine and heroin seizures. On July 10, Guramrit Sidhu, a Brampton, Ontario resident, resident was sentenced in California to 20 years for leading a cross‑border ring that moved more than 500 kg of methamphetamine and 350 kg of cocaine into Canada. Federal judges added further fentanyl‑related sentences on July 13, including a ten‑year term for a Missouri gang leader Felipe Feliciano Ramirez and additional terms in Colorado and Wisconsin. On July 15, a federal Florida grand jury in the Southern District of Florida indicted Los Angeles residents Nicholas Aguilar and Jessica Marcolina for operating the darknet vendor “HotGirlzClub,” distributing fentanyl and meth nationwide, laundering cryptocurrency proceeds, cryptocurrency, and running an illegal ghost‑gun manufacturing operation. The charges carry potential life sentences on the drug counts and up to 20 years on the money‑laundering count. On July 27, a Sacramento federal grand jury indicted four men—Balentin Quintero, Francisco Chavez, Steven Ortega and Tavarius Montgomery—on men on multiple counts of distributing cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl and firearms, with prosecutors seeking mandatory minimums firearms. That same day, two men from Evansville, Indiana, received 15‑year and seven‑year sentences for operating a methamphetamine trafficking ring, while two North Texas residents each received 135‑month sentences for fentanyl distribution, one also convicted of five to ten years possessing a firearm. These actions, coordinated by U.S. Attorney offices and fines up multi‑agency task forces, highlight the continued federal effort to $10 million. dismantle large‑scale opioid and stimulant trafficking networks.
