British singer Rod Stewart, 81, canceled the remaining dates of his ‘One Last Time’ farewell tour following a routine coronary stent procedure. The medical intervention followed an incident on June 19, 2026, in West Valley City, Utah, where Stewart nearly fainted on stage. His wife, Penny Lancaster, noted the decision to cancel performances in the US and Mexico was made to manage risk factors, as his high-energy performance style requires significant physical activity. Lancaster also confirmed that the heart blockage was previously unknown during the earlier respiratory issues experienced in June. Following the procedure, Stewart reported feeling ‘f***ing brilliant’ and has returned to his daily activities and fitness routine. He shared this positive recovery status during a charity event at London’s Aldwych Theatre on October 15, 2026. While the health challenges forced the cancellation of several upcoming performances through September 2026, Stewart has announced a new final concert tour titled ‘The Final Encore’ for 2027. This tour will span North America, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and mainland Europe, marking the end of a career spanning more than six decades. The 2027 itinerary includes a start at the 3Arena in Dublin, stops at the O2 in London and Uber Arena in Berlin, and a single Italian performance on June 26, 2027, at Villa Manin in Codroipo. The tour is scheduled to conclude in Hannover in July 2027. Stewart clarified that while he is retiring from life on the road, he is not retiring from music entirely and is currently recording new material. He also plans to fulfill previously rescheduled shows at Red Rocks in Colorado in September 2027.
