Romanian football player transfer activity

Romanian football players and staff continue to be active in international transfer negotiations. Daniel Bîrligea has arrived in Rome to complete his medical and sign with Italian Serie A side Frosinone on a 1.5 million euro loan with a mandatory 3.5 million euro purchase clause, contingent on Frosinone remaining in Serie A. Former player Adrian Mutu noted that Bîrligea’s playing style is well-suited for Italian football due to his previous training in the country.

In Turkey, Çaykur Rizespor has signed 19-year-old Romanian talent Albert Iustin Doicaru from Farul Constanța. Doicaru, described as the ‘New Hagi’, has signed a five-year contract. Additionally, Vladislav Blănuță is set to join Lechia Gdansk on loan from Dinamo Kiev.

Domestic activity in Romania includes CFR Cluj securing the signing of 34-year-old striker Stefan Drazic from APOEL Nicosia, a move praised by coach Marius Șumudică. Universitatea Cluj has also secured the signing of 19-year-old midfielder Luca Szimionaș from Hellas Verona on a four-year contract. The club is reportedly close to acquiring 19-year-old attacker Ioan Vermeșan from Verona on loan. However, Universitatea Cluj coach Cristiano Bergodi received a two-match suspension and a 6,500 lei fine following a confrontation with a spectator during a match against Dinamo.

Internal tensions persist at FCSB, where owner Gigi Becali issued an ultimatum to captain Florin Tănase. Other domestic developments include Leo Grozavu returning to coaching with Chindia Târgoviște. Discussions also continue regarding the financial stability of CFR Cluj and the leadership of the LPF.
