Government-led auctions in Romania are facilitating the sale of diverse real estate assets, including agricultural land and residential properties. In late August 2026, listings included a 240-hectare agricultural farm in Darabani, Constanța County, valued at 3.5 million euros, which features machinery and a grain acquisition center. Concurrently, the Administration of Sector 5 Public Finance (ANAF) initiated auctions for residential units, such as a three-room apartment in Oradea with a reduced starting price, and a two-room apartment in Oravița. By early September 2026, ANAF expanded its residential auction listings. A three-room apartment on Valdemar Lăscărescu Street in Bucharest, located in a building completed in 1970, was listed with a starting price of approximately 22,800 euros (119,763 lei), representing 50% of its evaluated value. The ground-floor unit has a useful surface area of 36.12 square meters. Additionally, ANAF launched a third auction for a villa in Târgu Jiu on Călărași Street following two unsuccessful attempts. The starting price was reduced by 50% to approximately 25,800 euros (135,585 lei). The property, which exceeds 300 square meters, faces several legal and structural challenges: the land is owned by another individual and is not included in the sale, the property lacks a land registry and cadastral number, and the residence is currently occupied, meaning the buyer will require the eviction of inhabitants. The auction notice also notes physical issues including ceiling leaks and deteriorated finishes. On September 11, 2026, new auction listings were announced in Botoșani and Bihor. In Botoșani, a 1,137-square-meter lot featuring 500 square meters of construction land and 637 square meters of arable land is available for a starting price of 16,200 euros. The property includes an unfinished 37-square-meter house and a 15-square-meter annex, both requiring renovation. In Bihor County, ANAF is auctioning a 49.5-square-meter, two-room apartment in Vașcău.
