Romanian historical and military commemorations

Romania has conducted several historical commemorations. In late July, the country marked the 550th anniversary of the Battle of Valea Alba, featuring symposiums, liturgical services, and a torch procession, alongside the 109th anniversary of the World War I Battle of Mărășești. In August, ceremonies continued with a memorial service at Dealu Monastery to observe the 425th anniversary of the passing of Mihai Viteazul, the first unifier of the Romanians. The event included the presentation of new historical volumes regarding his religious and political legacy. Further military commemorations were held in mid-August. In Țicleni, Gorj County, a ceremony honored the 110th anniversary of Romania’s entry into World War I, paying tribute to the 119 local heroes who fell during the conflict and the soldier Ecaterina Teodoroiu. Additionally, in Buzău, the 2nd Infantry Division ‘Getica’ celebrated 110 years of military tradition with public events, military equipment exhibitions, and performances by the Military Music.
