Infrastructure modernization efforts continue on several county roads in Romania's mountainous regions. On the DJ 763 road connecting Bihor and Cluj counties, the Padiș–Ic Ponor section has reached 55% completion. This 10-kilometer stretch has been closed to traffic since July 2026 to facilitate rock removal and reinforcement. To date, crews have constructed 3,900 meters of concrete retaining walls and installed 37 water culverts. Simultaneously, modernization of the DJ 102I road through the Baiu Mountains, connecting Prahova and Brașov counties, remains at 28% completion. This 25.63 km route through the Predeluș Pass involves the installation of nearly 2,000 drilled piles, reinforced concrete support structures, and gabion structures, alongside the construction of five bridges and 41 culverts to serve as a modern alternative to the DN1 highway. In the Brașov region, the modernization of the DJ 104D road (Șoarș – Bărcut segment) has reached 80% execution. Additionally, the Valea Doftanei–Săcele route is reported to be at 28% completion.
