In late July 2026, the PSD announced it would contest the interim Bolojan government's adoption of the National Biodiversity Conservation Strategy 2026‑2030, a €972.4 million element of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The party argued the strategy exceeds the limited mandate of the demitted cabinet and should be approved by Parliament. PSD leaders said they would file complaints with the General Prosecutor’s Office and request the Bucharest Court of Appeal to suspend the measure, warning that criminal complaints could follow if violations are confirmed.
