Romanian municipalities have continued a coordinated summer effort to curb mosquitoes, ticks, and rodents. In late July 2026, Slatina implemented a multi-stage schedule involving insecticide treatments, larviciding, and deratization, while the commune of Moșnița Nouă conducted terrestrial disinfection across its parks and various villages. In early August, Bradu and Agigea performed low-altitude aerial disinfestation to reduce insect populations, with officials warning beekeepers and those with respiratory sensitivities to take precautions. This followed citywide night-time operations in Pitești on 29–30 July, which utilized the Ministry-approved biocide CypertoX Forte, and a 31 July operation in Cugir and Vinerea using nationally authorised products. The Ilfov County Council extended its “Ilfov fără țânțari” programme with a night-time adult-mosquito campaign from 3–5 August, applying the permethrin-based STING insecticide across all communes and towns. Authorities reminded the public to keep windows closed and protect bees and aquatic life.
