Following the appointment of Laurențiu Reghecampf, FCSB has entered a period of intense physical preparation. Midfielder Karlo Muhar described the new training regimen as ‘spartan’, noting that the physical demands have caused muscle fever among several players. On the pitch, Reghecampf’s debut against Oțelul resulted in a 1-0 victory, though he raised concerns regarding the squad’s lack of clinical finishing. Despite recording 21 shots, the team only managed four on target. Statistical analysis of expected goals (xG) over the first 11 stages of the season indicates the team is scoring significantly less frequently than their chances suggest. Reghecampf’s eligibility to manage from the sidelines was previously under review by the Romanian Football Federation (FRF). This uncertainty was compounded by a legal dispute with Universitatea Craiova regarding an unpaid debt of 150,000 euros that had been outstanding for two years. The dispute posed a threat of a football ban for Reghecampf. However, the Romanian Football Federation’s Disciplinary and Ethics Commission rejected the complaint from Universitatea Craiova. The debt was reportedly settled by FCSB owner Gigi Becali following an agreement with Reghecampf. Universitatea Craiova has decided not to appeal the decision to the Appeals Commission or the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), effectively averting the threat of exclusion for the coach. During his recent victory over Oțelul Galați, club officials noted that Reghecampf, rather than owner Gigi Becali, was responsible for tactical substitutions. In transfer news, FCSB is actively pursuing Nicolae Stanciu, who is currently playing in China. The club faces competition for the player from Universitatea Craiova and U Cluj.
