Radio station RTL is organizing special programming to mark its 60th anniversary. The milestone celebrations include a 60-hour event starting October 8, featuring archival content and the return of iconic broadcasting voices such as Jean-Pierre Foucault, Cyril Hanouna, Jean-Jacques Bourdin, and Julien Lepers. As part of its programming, RTL will also host a dedicated day of live broadcasts in Angoulême on October 16, 2026. This event will include local news, interactive segments regarding presidential priorities, and a live broadcast from the Charente prefecture featuring discussions on regional history and initiatives. During the anniversary period, media outlets and personalities are revisiting the station’s history. Melody Radio has scheduled the rebroadcast of an interview with former host Fabrice, conducted by Gilles Farina-Vallé, for October 11. Additionally, a debate has emerged concerning the origins of ‘La Valise RTL’, one of the station’s most famous games. While Michel Drucker claimed responsibility for launching the segment, historical announcer André Torrent contested this, stating the concept was developed by former program director Roger Kreicher and Dominique, the son of Jean Farran, based on a U.S. radio format called ‘Cash Call’.
