RTL has announced the fifth season of its crime-reality series, ‘Az Árulók – Gyilkosság a kastélyban’ (The Traitors – Murder in the Castle), which premiered on October 6. Hosted by Attila Árpa, the season features 24 contestants participating in a game centered on strategy, psychology, and team dynamics at Árpa’s castle. The new season introduces a gameplay twist involving a ‘Secret Traitor’ who knows the identities of the killers but remains unknown to them. To accommodate the new programming, RTL Hungary has restructured its evening schedule. The show is set to air at 20:00, initially broadcasting Tuesday through Friday before transitioning to a full weekday schedule. The finalized cast includes model Vivien Vasvári, mountain climber Xénia Sántha, musician Benjámin ‘Filo’ Fuchs, and actor Raul Ionescu. Other participants include actor Németh Kristóf, singer and presenter Lola, businesswoman Polgár Tünde, comedian Péter Elek, media professional Bettina Beslin, and actress Krisztina Urbanovits. Regarding their competitive strategies, Polgár Tünde indicated she may set aside her usual etiquette to ensure survival, while Lola noted her ability to play both loyal and traitorous roles based on her media experience. Following the commencement of the competition at Nádasdy Castle, actor and theater director Németh Kristóf has emerged as a primary suspect. Despite being a three-time sports shooting champion, a failed task involving weapons and ammunition led other players to accuse him of intentional sabotage, causing him significant emotional distress during a roundtable discussion. ~~Additionally, mountaineer Xénia Sántha, who works~~ In the fourth episode, art dealer Dávid Kováts was revealed as the ‘Red Cloak killer,’ a ~~business manager in Bristol, England, has expressed an interest~~ role granting him unique powers not previously seen in ~~playing~~ the ~~role~~ Hungarian version of ~~a traitor despite her friendly personality.~~ the show. While Kováts initially viewed the role's autonomy as an advantage, he admitted to experiencing intense paranoia, stating, ‘I have to fear 23 out of 24 people.’
