The eighth series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK was scheduled to premiere on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer in September 2026, featuring 12 contestants and a judging panel including RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Alan Carr, and Graham Norton. Following the eleventh series, conclusion of the eighth season, the BBC announced that the franchise will move from the broadcaster to the streaming platform WOW Presents Plus. This transition is attributed to significant “significant financial pressures and required savings at pressures” as the BBC. As part corporation seeks to achieve £500 million in savings. Future seasons of the main series, as well as the international spin-off RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs the World, will migrate to the World of Wonder-owned streaming service. To mark this move, transition, WOW Presents Plus has ordered an All Stars “All Stars” edition of the UK franchise, which is expected to premiere in Fall autumn 2027. Alumni of the show, including Bimini and La Voix, have expressed their reactions to the news regarding the franchise, which has served as a mainstream platform for British drag performers since 2019.
