Overview

In July 2026 a Russian‑manufactured Geran‑2 (Shahed‑136) drone entered Moldovan airspace during a night raid on Ukraine’s Odesa region and crashed near Copanca in the Căușeni district. No casualties or damage were reported, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs again condemned the breach as part of a broader Russian drone campaign spilling beyond Ukraine’s borders. Investigations continued to determine how the drone entered Moldovan territory.
