The security situation in Kramatorsk has deteriorated as Russian military forces approached the city outskirts. In early August 2026, Ukrainian authorities ordered the mandatory evacuation of 525 children due to intensified attacks, as Russian forces were reported to be within 10 to 20 kilometers of the city.
