Following his departure from ESPN on July 20, former NFL player and analyst Ryan Clark has transitioned into new sports media ventures. Clark officially launched ‘The Pivot Sports with Ryan Clark’ on September 14. In a subsequent development, Netflix entered into a multi-year partnership with ‘The Pivot’ podcast, hosted by Clark alongside Channing Crowder and Fred Taylor. Under this agreement, video episodes of the show will stream exclusively on Netflix every Tuesday and Friday starting September 8. The deal also includes first-look rights for Netflix on new content from Clark’s company, Pivot25 Productions, and the hosting of the podcast’s existing catalog on the platform. Regarding his exit from ESPN, which occurred during a period of network restructuring and layoffs, Clark has characterized the departure as a ‘firing’ rather than a standard layoff. He alleged that ESPN intentionally leaked news of his exit to a conservative sports site to ‘humiliate’ him. Clark is currently subject to a non-compete agreement with ESPN that remains in effect until the end of February, potentially limiting his immediate return to network television.
