Sale of aged social media accounts

Overview

In early July 2026, Localusashop advertised a service that sold pre‑created, verified Facebook accounts to entrepreneurs, marketers and influencers, highlighting existing friends, followers and faster campaign setup. By late July, additional online services were promoting the purchase of both Twitter and Facebook accounts, emphasizing quick access to established follower bases, the ability to bypass new‑account restrictions, higher advertising limits and similar contact channels.

On 22 July, two separate promotional sites advertised the sale of aged Twitter and Facebook profiles, urging buyers to verify account histories before purchase. On 29 July, LocalUsaShop expanded its offering to include aged LinkedIn accounts alongside Facebook, arguing that such profiles avoid the 15‑30‑day “warming‑up” period and yield higher trust scores, while noting risks such as recovery by original owners or platform bans. LocalUsaShop provided contact details via email, Telegram, and WhatsApp to facilitate these transactions.

By early August, the market further broadened to include Snapchat. An online service began offering pre‑existing Twitter and Snapchat accounts with selectable follower counts and engagement metrics, promoting immediate reach for brands targeting younger demographics on Snapchat and broader audiences on Twitter. The provider listed support via Telegram, Discord and WhatsApp.

By late August, reports indicated a growing market for established Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) accounts. Users seek these profiles to leverage existing histories and connections to enhance online presence or maintain anonymity. Discussions regarding these transactions, including recommendations and warnings about potential scams, have increasingly appeared on community platforms like Reddit.
