Salto Grande regional development initiatives in Uruguay and educational updates

The Salto Grande Uruguayan Delegation is implementing various continues to implement regional development and educational initiatives. Through the ‘Fundación te impulsa’ program, the Salto Grande Foundation provided economic support to 54 entrepreneurs in the departments of Salto, Artigas, Paysandú, and Río Negro. The initiative, which selected beneficiaries from 101 applicants, focused on a group where Negro, with women represent representing 68% of participants. Additionally, the Salto Grande Joint Technical Commission (CTM) has reintroduced its ‘Escuelas’ program in the Río Negro department after a five-year hiatus. This initiative engages five urban and rural educational institutions in researching the history and development of the Salto Grande dam from its 1946 founding agreement to its 1983 launch. Nicolás Urrutia, Vice President of the Uruguayan Delegation, noted the positive response and expressed intentions to double school participation in future editions. In Argentina, the CTM is investing approximately $62 million toward social responsibility plans, including the purchase of 130 new seats for the Auditorium Municipal de Federación to complete the venue's projected capacity.
