Samsun is advancing diverse infrastructure, urban, and industrial development projects. In the Canik district, urban renewal efforts for the Mert River and the Gülsan Industrial Site have progressed, with the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality concluding a design competition for a 30-hectare area intended to integrate a service building, cultural center, and mosque. Transportation infrastructure is expanding through rail and aviation upgrades. The light rail fleet is increasing from 29 to 41 vehicles, with the second of 12 new 42-meter-long, 74 percent domestic-production trams arriving for assembly. A new polyclinic building project has been launched with a budget of 37 million TL; the 27,000-square-meter facility will feature 127 polyclinic rooms, imaging diagnostic units, a 25-classroom nursery, and a 410-person cafeteria.
