Samsung Electronics launched its first U.S. credit product, the Samsung Galaxy Card, on 22 July 2026. The Visa‑network card, co‑branded with Barclays US Consumer Bank, carries no annual fee and is offered as an instant digital card in Samsung Wallet, with an optional physical black‑metal version. Rewards are tiered: 5 % cash‑back on Samsung device purchases or pre‑orders, 3 % on transactions processed through Samsung Wallet, 2 % on selected streaming services and 1 % on all other spend. Cardholders who spend at least US$2,000 within the first 90 days receive a US$200 cash‑back bonus. At the Galaxy Unpacked event in London the same day, Samsung announced that Samsung Wallet will soon support native stablecoins, showing a demo account holding USDC. The feature is slated for a 2026 rollout, but Samsung did not name the specific tokens, issuers, blockchains or custodial arrangements. The company said the stablecoin function will sit alongside payment cards, digital keys and boarding passes, letting users hold, transfer and pay with dollar‑pegged assets on their smartphones. Rollout dates, eligible regions and supported devices were left unspecified. Analysts suggest the addition could expose hundreds of millions of Galaxy smartphone users to dollar‑pegged digital assets, dollars, while regulatory frameworks such as the U.S. GENIUS Act and the EU’s MiCA legislation may shape market availability. Samsung highlighted the partnership with Barclays as a long‑term fintech collaboration and noted the potential to add further financial products, extending the company’s fintech push that began with a 2025 partnership with Coinbase.
