By mid-August 2026, reports surfaced that Samsung has decided against implementing variable aperture camera technology in the Galaxy S27 series due to high manufacturing costs and limited image quality improvements. On August 16, reports suggested a significant design shift toward a horizontal camera bar to improve ergonomics and stability on flat surfaces, while also facilitating the integration of Qi2 magnetic wireless charging standards.
