The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 has transitioned from early testing of mobile workflows to a commercial release and subsequent software troubleshooting. Initial reports focused on the device’s potential as a primary workstation when paired with peripherals like folding keyboards and high-quality cameras. Following its official launch, which introduced redesigned proportions and a thinner profile, the device has faced technical challenges. Users reported a specific software bug where home screen icons would overlap, drift, or become stuck near the internal fold of the screen. This Some users noted that icons could become unselectable once they moved into the central crease area, and manual reorganization or locking the home layout failed to prevent the issue was attributed from recurring. A member of the Good Lock support team confirmed the issue, attributing it to the Home Up module within the Good Lock suite rather than the core One UI software. The glitch is specifically linked to the DIY Home function, which allows for non-standard icon placement. A fix was provided through a an update to the Home Up module (version 18.0.00.36) via the Galaxy Store. Following the update, requiring users to must manually rearrange their icons using the Home Screen Edit mode to restore their preferred layouts.
