After the June pothole‑repair drive and the First Reforestation Day 2026 that raised the municipal tree count above 33,000, San Pedro Cholula’s administration continued expanding its resilience programme. Heavy rains on 11 July prompted a permanent civil‑protection unit to monitor flooded streets, evacuate residents, clear debris and pump water in coordination with the Secretariat of Infrastructure and the Acuatech crew, reporting no injuries. Rehabilitation work progressed on Calle 3 Norte in the Santiago Mixquitla neighbourhood, with drainage, water‑supply, pavement and sidewalk upgrades. The nearby Deportivo Olmeca sports complex received routine upkeep, including grass trimming, tree pruning, fence repainting and equipment repair. In mid‑July the mayor delivered new equipment to the Parks and Gardens department and the Civil Protection agency. The tools will support the Brigada Pluvial in flood‑risk monitoring and emergency response, reinforcing public‑space safety. On 27 July the "Entre Aves" summer sports program for children and teenagers was launched at Deportivo Tlachtli, offering a range of activities through 21 August. On 18 July the equipment hand‑over was reiterated, with Municipal Services Director Ir Iñuir Suárez and Civil Protection Director Rodolfo Fierro emphasizing its role in safeguarding the community. On 29 July Mayor ~~Tonantzín~~ Tonantzín Fernández inaugurated the rehabilitation of Calle 13 Poniente (Avenida Miguel Alemán to 3 Sur), fulfilling a 12‑year resident demand. The Transformación en Marcha effort added pothole filling, weed removal, lighting maintenance and sidewalk sweeping, improving safety and mobility for local families. The ceremony coincided with a municipal security operation in which two men and two teenagers were detained on suspicion of a house‑robbery in the Santiago Momoxpan subdivision, underscoring the administration’s simultaneous focus on public safety. These coordinated actions underscore San Pedro Cholula’s integrated approach to infrastructure resilience, environmental stewardship, community safety and youth development.
