In early August 2026, the Sanremo Giovani jury was announced, with former contestant Manola Moslehi joining the panel that will select three emerging artists for the 2025 Sanremo Festival. At the same time, the Sanremo Rock & Trend Festival concluded its Southern Italy finals, choosing twelve acts to compete in the national finals slated for September 2026. A few days later, the festival released the full regulations for the 2026 “Area Sanremo” competition, outlining eligibility criteria, registration windows, and a €150 administrative fee. An accompanying YouTube analysis ranked the most‑watched videos of the contest’s finalists, highlighting Sal Da Vinci’s “Per sempre sì” as the top performer with over 35 million views. On 17 August, registration officially opened for Area Sanremo 2026. Organized by the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra Foundation and the Municipality of Sanremo, this edition introduces a renewed vision under artistic director Stefano De Martino. For the first time, Area Sanremo and the Sanremo Giovani competition are launching simultaneously to create two distinct pathways that will converge during final selection stages. While the main festival hosts established artists, Sanremo Giovani remains a competitive springboard for artists under 35, typically admitting only four to six finalists selected through digital auditions and live jury evaluations.
