In late August 2026, National Deputy Pablo Farías criticized the deterioration of national routes in northern Santa Fe, describing the state of Route 11 as “a shame.” Farías alleged that fuel tax funds intended for road and water infrastructure are being diverted to cover the national deficit. He also addressed a proposed concession model where private companies would manage routes for 20-year terms in exchange for toll collection. By mid-September, infrastructure activity in Santa Fe showed progress through specific provincial projects. In Ramallo, the first completed section of Route 1001 was opened following a 200 million peso investment, though heavy transport remains prohibited due to ongoing drainage adjustments. Additionally, the provincial government initiated repairs and repaving on a 6-kilometer stretch of Provincial Route 83s near La Gallareta, incorporating LED lighting, signage, and structural recycling. In early October, the provincial government reported further progress on Provincial Route 41s in the San Jerónimo department, with 12 of the 17 kilometers between Irigoyen and Bernardo de Irigoyen already paved. This project includes widening the roadway to replace damaged surfaces. Regarding National Route 11, the company Vial de Paraná Medio Sociedad Anónima is scheduled to begin work in October on the 497-kilometer corridor from Nelson to Florencia. The concessionaire plans to perform pothole repairs, shoulder maintenance, and lighting repairs, with an estimated nine-month period before toll collection commences. Provincial Deputy Dionisio Scarpin expressed support for using the toll system to fund maintenance, despite noting disagreements regarding specific concession terms.
